Dr. Davies Farm Orchard

Not too big farm stand with apple u-pick area. Funny short hayride with great stories  from driver. Dr. Davies was one of the first female doctors in the US! Dr. Lucy Virginia Davies, also known as “Dockie,” in addition to having a full time medical practice (delivering over 6,000 babies in Congers, Valley Cottage and Rockland Lake) also became an acclaimed farmer, shipping strawberries to New York City. Many TV show and films used this farm. And one of Davies cousins composed the tune that became “Happy Birthday To You”.

But $15 for hayride + $3 for small pumpkin from “pumpkin patch”  and, OMG, $37 for empty apple bag (you can pick up about 25 lb. apples) was a little too much. Cash only, no ATM. Very small parking lot and people put cars right along the highway.
