Last but not least thing – the food. Breakfasts and lunches.
Ocean View restaurant on the second floor.
So much sweet tooth pleasures: everything in chocolate – apples, strawberries, marshmallows, rice krispy’s, Oreos, pretzels… Cookies, fudge in hungered sorts, gummies and salt-water taffy.
Walking down the boardwalk, suddenly among ordinary arcades and fast food joints we saw Jenkinson’s Aquarium. It’s a real jewel on the Boardwalk – huge brightly lit tanks, where sharks swam at eye level right next to us and cramp fish slid up and down the glass.
Seals were in constant dive and when we got to the second floor we could observe their feeding from above. Also on the second floor there’s a "petting aquarium" where visitors can touch different exotic fish.
Multiple decorations along the way help to set the mood: A diving suit from 19th century, a pirate ship any many more.
We found that Boardwalk begins just from our motel backyard and as long as one mile, so we walked it twice every day. There are food places, gift and candy shops, games and arcades, rides and Jenkinson’s Aquarium on one half on it.
Many homes are shabby by hurricane, many in scaffolding or, alas, abandoned.
All the benches have names on the sides.
Ocean was cool. On second day, when we got up, it was gone. Really, it was covered in a dense fog. And it was a sigh of the heavy rain.
